The era of touch smartphone devices started with Steve Jobs jumping into the market with the first iPhone in 2007. Prior to that Nokia dominated the market with Nokia 9000 Communicator. But from then till today, are we observing that the smartphone boom has come to an end?
To answer the above question, let's look at you and your surroundings. When was the last time you or anyone in your connect has updated the smartphone? For me, it's very rare.
Smartphone companies need to find the balance between the pricing, features, and designs. Continuous innovation is needed to bring new features which can explore the new possibilities and new use cases that smartphones can solve.
With the boost of the 5G network or metaverse as a platform can companies such as Samsung, Apple, or other players in the market innovate (in the area of AR/VR, virtualizing the usage, 3D Technology, energy charge using AIR, and the list goes on) and develop a smartphone that can boost the craze of smartphones back again?
I am convinced that the smartphone industry has not reached its peak and there is a lot of opportunity in the area to innovate. Question for me is, who is going to bring new trends to smartphones? Is it going to be the Apple and Samsung of the world or a new player is going to emerge and disrupt the market one more time?
